Airlift Movie Review

"Airlift" is documentary drama film which which moves with a snails pace.It is based upon the evacuation of the Indian down in Kuwait who gets stuck because of the war between Iraq and Kuwait. There might not be much to explore in terms of story it's rather the genre and situational driven drama.Cinematography is good and the sets are so nicely created that they almost look real. Largest evacuation in mankind history which was done by Air India in 1990 is what movie is all about. Akshay Kumar's performance brings this film a realistic charm with natural acting.Namrit Kaur doesn't get much chance in this movie but still she does a great job in playing a less significant role.

Raja Krishnan Menon emerges as a new talented actor. He was earlier into directing ad films.I am definitely looking forward to his next film. There is some sort of dragging in parts of the film. You might think where is this actually going because of it's slow pace, no timeline based sequences. For small little parts it may look like a blur. However, The movie as a overall product looks consistently focused on Indian patriotism, unity and courage. This is probably one of the most well made documentary films of the year. Flaws still exist yet the overall experience from the film is still positive.

Verdict:- Good

Ratings:- 3 / 5 Stars
