Brothers Movie Review

Brothers (U/A)

Length:- 2 hrs. 39 min.

Review
"Brothers" is a fighting action drama based on Hollywood movie named "Warrior".It's a story about two brothers who get engaged in first indian boxing championship and ended up fighting against each others in the final. From the starting itself "Brothers" looks tedious. It never gets a grasp on the topic or entertainment. The emotional sequences are far too much stretched and stretched. The movie takes half way long to settle the typical Indian emotions down and get in the true action drama genre.By that time you might have already lost most of your interest.Although, Second half tries to cheer you up but still it doesn't make up enough for the first part.

Karan Malhotra has created some similar scenes while some of them are modified as per Indian culture. However, What's lacking is thrills and the fast paced movie track. Instead the film takes a deep dive into the background/flash back story that coming back again takes a lot of time. What could have been a better way to tell this is keeping the current time story running and give a little bit of flashbacks. But, That doesn't happen here. The item song by Kareena Kapoor doesn't leave an impression. It could have been a lot better in many ways.So that it should not look a hard hitting piece which it does.

What works out here are the nice and exciting fighting sequences. Both the actors Akshay Kumar and Siddarth Malhotra have worked on their bodies exclusively for this film. This is clearly visible at the first glance itself. "Brothers" rely on Akshay Kumar who tries to take it from no where to somewhere possible. Jackie Shroff's character is a little underestimated.Overall, The film lacks in a lot many ways which makes it not so watchable experience.
