Insurgent Movie Review

Insurgent (U/A)

Length:- 1 hr. 58 min.

"Insurgent" is a sci-fi movie, which is a sequel to "Divergent" movie which came last year.I must say there isn't much interesting about this series."Insurgent" makes you feel like it's has lot of similarities with other movies like "The Hunger Games". It could be called as a small scale derivative of Hunger Games. Also, In some of the scenes in which Beatrice "Tris" Prior (Shailene Woodley) goes into another world. This scene has too much resemblance to "The Matrix" movies like the way the connect through a wire inserted in their body. I must say the movie lacks creativity and originality.

Just a bunch of good shots are there like a train crossing sequence and the one in which Beatrice tries to save her mother. But all of it doesn't make much sense and for the most part you are confused about what's going on here.Where this movie want to go? What does it want to convey ? After a while you may think it doesn't have a really good plot and their are loop holes. Shailene Woodley is the only saving grace of the film. She does her job in a good way but still there seems to be room for improvement.

Nowadays I got a feeling about sci-fi movies, which is what is so sci-fi about the film. I mean we may have just a few improvement but they are too few in no that doesn't feel like enough.Starting of the movie is so dull that we get really boring. The film does picks it up in the second part. It has some of nice shots sci-fi shots in the second part but by the time you are to bored to watch it. I must say that the film is highly predictable. The 3-D effects are ok but it doesn't make a convoluted plot into an entertaining experience.

Verdict:- Above Average

Ratings:- 2. 5 / 5 Stars

Insurgent Movie Official Trailer

  1. Bad writing can't be fixed with 3d or special effects.

  2. I don't get the weird box thing or the matrix-y scenes from the movie.
