Dum Laga Ke Haisha Movie Review

Dum Laga Ke Haisha

Length:- 1 hrs. 51 min.

Review
Honestly,I wasn't expecting much from "Dum Laga Ke Haisha". I was assuming that it can be a pretty generic story for the modern society but the filmmaker is smart. He nicely imparts the plot in Haridwar in 1995. At that point of time these types of story were very common. The arranged marriages in India were like without matchmaking and much of interpersonal interest. The best part of the movie is it's short crisp and compelling. It never deviates from the path. It stick to what it needs to deliver. Prem (Ayushmann Khurana) is an illiterate guy who is forcefully got married to an overweight Sandya (Bhumi Padnekar). Obviously there were no strings attached to the unusual couple cannot adjust with each other. So, there are problems which arises post marriage like not accepting and respecting each other including and especially from the boy's side.

Who know the love can also be arranged or arranged marriages may also turn up eventually into a love affair."Dum Laga Ke Haisha" has a good message of loving and respecting to what we have. It conveys it with the help of realistic situations and circumstances while tending towards the end.Performance by Ayushmann Khurana is highly appreciable here, it takes every step with the essence of accuracy.I saw Sanjay Mishra last time in "Ankhon Dekhi" the film was delicious like a dish while Sanjay Mishra was marvelous. With his recent few films as an acting credit Sanjay Mishra has come up with some great work. Even though the films might have conventional idea but the  thought process behind it was extraordinary.

The sets which are simple and believable as far the premise is concerned. Sharat Katariya who earlier made unusual films like "Bheja Fry" with all sort of usual elements. This time he delivers something remarkable and significant with the right ingredients mixed in the correct proportion to make a recipe which not only taste better but also gives you a satisfying experience. The plot is predictable yet it keeps you entertaining.

Verdict:- Good One

Ratings:- 3.5 / 5 Stars
