American Sniper Movie Review

American Sniper(R)

Length:- 2 hrs. 12 min.

Review
"American Sniper" is not just about a personal life of a sniper clashing his professional life. It's a story of patriotism of American soldiers lifestyle. It's about how much they sacrifice to protect world's greatest country. This film may also amplify the racial discrimination as it show some guys as really bad ones. It is true that because of some bad guys the whole race becomes involved in the hatred phenomenal. The emotional bondage between husband and wife is really fascinating in the film. The Sniper who kills as many as 160 officially and somewhere close to 251 unofficially, is the one who is keen and focused with the required gratitude towards his job.

They love each other so much that you might even fall in love with their love. The cinematography is so good that it actually makes you feel that you're watching something real itself. We have a translator guy which makes it easier for American soldiers to communicate with the common people and achieve their target. The most charming thing about the movie is it has well focused plot. A much physically tuff with an emotional heart- Bradley Cooper makes this cinema much more sensible. The bad part of the being a soldier is you won't be able to focus much on your family.

It never diverts from what it need to convey. Every soldier makes a lot of sacrifices for the security of his country. It involves leaves his family I.e. Wife and children on their own. The best scene of the movie is when a Iraqi guy is shot from a long distance straight in head. Bradley Cooper brings the charm into the movie. He is so good that it looks almost natural for the most part. Clint Eastwood has done a job by create a nice ambience of war and family association in the life of a soldier.

Verdict:-  Pretty Good

Baby Movie Review

Baby (U/A)

Length:- 2 hrs. 39 min.

Review
Neeraj Pandey is new talent to Bollywood. His last few movies were really appreciated everywhere. Most of Neeraj Pandey's work  is focused on patriotism. From his first movie  "A Wednesday" to "Baby" he touches religious issues as well as Homeland security and bomb blast with focus on terrorism. But you may not find "Baby" as good as his other movies. Still "Baby" involves a lot of thought process indulging India and Pakistan. The story is about a special team formed after 26/11 to stop terror attacks in the name of bomb blasts.

Ajay (Akshay Kumar) playing a lead guy guided by Feroze Ali Khan (Danny). Whenever I see Akshay in Neeraj's film I forget all the nonsense and absurd things he did in other movies."Baby" has too focused and serious genre. So, it misses the charm it which was there  in Neeraj's other movies. There is hardly any comic scene. Also, the plot focuses more on a smaller level, although it switches locations but thoughtfully sticks to a lower level.Last time I loved Akshay's look only in "Special Chabbis". This time also he looks equally good.

"Baby" never loses the focuses and sticks the plot. Although in the last half an hour it becomes a little clumsy. Yet, it's thoroughly enjoyable drama with lesser suspense and twist. The plot may be predictable for the most part. But really a great mislead from its execution. There are few interesting sequences when Ajay encounters his wife played nicely by Madhurima Tuli. His wife's loves is amazing even though she known that he is lying. Overall, "Baby" is a watchable and enjoyable experience.

Verdict:- Good

The Imitation Game Movie Review

The Imitation Game(PG-13)

Length:- 1 hr. 53 min.

Review
We  saw a great movie based on mathematician "A Beautiful Mind" a decade back. It was a masterpiece by Ron Howard. I personally was expecting some kind of a similar experience in "The Imitation Game" but this doesn't work that well. We have a talent actor who played "Sherlock Holmes" in a really fascinating TV series. Yet he is also unable to deliver some mind-blowing stuff. His performance is good enough but the movie doesn't turn out be larger than life. It does the ambience and the required ingredients but sometimes the ingredients are enough make a delicious dish. We have really great setup as far as the environment of World War 2 is concerned.

Movies based on geniuses should be interesting because they are so different from the entire world. The film is not so bad but it's predictable and lacks the charm an extraordinary movies has. Whatever we see here is just a generic work of the cinema. We never see any special effects like we saw in "A Beautiful Mind". In my opinion there should have been some scenes which shows the world from Alan Turing perspective. This could have added some charm to the movie which doesn't have. As far as the performances of the actors are concerned; both Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley does a good job. Benedict have played a homosexual character in way which looks very realistic.

The movie also faces limitations of the story. In my opinion you may feel that it the plot which is not allowing the movie to do some experimentation. Also, the budget of the movie is not properly utilized. I mean we have some good sets yet there are no special effects. I think every movie based on geniuses should have some mandatory special effects. Otherwise, it looks like we are watching an extraordinary man's life in an ordinary fashion. Overall, I found the movie just ok but not up to the mark.

Verdict:- Not that great

Alone Movie Review

Alone (A)

Length:- 2 hr. 14 min.

Review
I must say that Indian horror are usually not up to the mark. We see something similar here, the storyline is pretty generic. I personally think we had a really good opportunity with this film. But it didn't turn out to be working here. The film never creates enough curiosity to make you starving for more. We even have a mystery story in the movie but that is highly boring affair. Somebody can easily make out that the twin girls are not connected at all.Karan looks dull in front Bipasha.

Dialogues delivered by main cast are too simplistic. Only physiatrist delivers some sensible dialogues. You hardly feel any emotional attachment with the characters. The horror scenes are not that horrifying. The music is also average. Bipasha Basu does shows some spark in few moments yet she is also a let down here.
Imitate scene between Bipasha and Karan looks unrealistic. In the end it's trying to justified that even though two persons may look similar yet they may be good or bad in nature that's why our hero loves the good girl from the twin but initially it looks like he choose the smart one.

"Alone" could have been better in many ways whether it's plot, dialogues, music and even horror scene. In total, what we get here is just the simplistic movie without much of charm in it. Film is predictable and smooch are not matching the plot. It's actually tiring and exhausting to watch "Alone".Bipasha Basu does look a little old in some sequences. I personally feel that the film wants to show to much of stuff which lead it to become less interesting anf a little annoying. There isn't much which is wrong in terms of film making but rather making it entertaining.

Verdict:- Boring

Tevar Movie Review

Tevar (U/A)

Length:- 2 hrs. 39 min.

Review
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from the movie "Tevar". Yet, it looks generic for the most part. Arjun Kapoor looks a little fat, may be his role requires the same. The action is raw yet it tries to be entertaining. This film is Boney Kapoor's work so it does have some refinement. There are elements which makes the movie as interesting as possible but still the movie turns out to be non gripping and compelling.

When Gajendar (Manoj Bajpayee) falls in love with Radhika (Sonaskhi Sinha) that's where the film gets a little clumsy.Till the movie reaches the interval it gets boring. You may not feel like watching it anymore. Film is predictable and little dragging. We see something similar to typical Bollywood moviewhich is hard to tolerate after a while. Getup wise Manoj Bajaypee is far better than Arjun Kapoor. In some moments Manoj looks the hero of the film. His acting is also marvelous. This actor is also ageless, he doesn't look like a aged guy at all.

The only good song from " Tevar" is moment which is little modern otherwise this movie looks like a generic affair."Tevar" is an overlong and stretched. It makes you feel exhausted after watching it.Really irritating part of the movie was Manoj wearing only his underwear for a really long time.Second half just has cat and mouse chase sequences. It's climax stretches and stretches even more.

Verdict:- Average

Ratings:- 2 / 5 Stars

Birdman Movie Review

 Birdman

Length:- 1 hr 59 min.

Review
Birdman is an unusual movie, it doesn't have much of exotic locations and high-tech usage. Yet it has something really good. It has really nice cinematography and extraordinary camera work. Can you imagine a movie shot in just a room would be entertaining? We don't have a young looking actor in the movie rather we have an old actor and the actress is his daughter only. I never got bored while watching this movie. Although it's not a family movie as it does have some abusive language. But that's the fun part and it doesn't bother you rather entertains you. The story is about Riggan Thomson / Birdman (Michael Keaton), he was a famous actor sometime back with his movie franchise Birdman. Now, he is struggling as a stage actor with his play named "What we talk when we talk about love". Michael fantasizes himself as Birdman. This complex character is nicely played by Michael Keaton.

The special effects are nice which makes this one room shot movie an engrossing watch. The camerawork is certainly not normal and usual rather its an work of outstanding skills. It shows things in an unimaginable way. The background music which is pretty much like a street music is not bad. Sam (Emma Stone) looks hot and kind of different. Her role is not that significant yet she leaves an impressive. The film is quiet realistic and looks like a great documentary. It's like a live show watching with elements of entertainment, funny moments and special effects. We have the normal people with abnormal and struggling life. The day to day events are turned into entertaining and absolutely marvelous.

The entire movie is made to feel like it's been shot in just one take. It highly unpredictable and non-generic. The message movie wants to convey is ask a question to your that do you really matter in someway in this world. How a stage artist is upset about the critics bad reviews of his show. Inspite of his great efforts it turns out to be life ending experience if the critics says no to it. Zach Galifianakis who looks far more slimmer and better has added charm to this movie by his acting. Overall, "Birdman" is absolutely enjoyable experience and should not be missed.

Into The Woods Movie Review

Into The Woods

Length:- 2 hrs. 5 min.

Review
It's a fairy tale movie with a Disney tag but here is the thing this film works for while.Later when it approaches towards the end it kind of gets a bit boring. In the last 20 minutes I really started thinking was this part really necessary. Like other fairy tales you listen to a most common dialogue "They lived happily after" but here after listening to that. we have a whole sort of a dragging story related to the killing of giant female. Also, an unnecessary kiss between Emily Blunt and Chris Pine. That's where the film loses the track. Emily Blunt is beautiful, she looks terrific and has played her part quite well. She brings the required charm, talks and acts sensible, and makes her character a bit realistic.Chris Pine is a let down as a prince, honestly he looks are a little deceptive. He doesn't even look like a Prince.James Carden as baker is a kind of nice, calm, gentle and decent guy. This guy has done a nice job here.

The Wolf which was supposed to be scary is not that scary. It's rather kind of vulnerable and easy being killed.Johnny Depp played the wolf but he doesn't get much chance to show his talent. he gets killed very easy by a baker.I am not sure if someone can kill a wolf that easily. The film is also a little more aligned for the children and adults may have a little hard time here. The singing of dialogues for the most part is little uninteresting.I personally am is not a big fan of movies which has all the dialogues being conveyed as singing. Here, I found it a bit annoying and irritating after a while.

Overall, the film is good as far as story is concerned. The cinematography is nice and the sets are small and good. One more thing which I have noticed is this film has too many characters which may also makes a little fuzzy. Although it's based on a book by the same yet I was expecting something little more intellectual from this film.In my opinion it's a good movie to watch with family and children but for sure it could have been better tending towards the end.

Verdict:- Good
