Million Dollar Arm Movie Review

Million Dollar Arm (PG)

Length:- 2 hrs. 6 min.

Million Dollar Arm is a movie based on true story. It's actually a sports drama which takes us to a journey of finding a champion. The search for the talent begins by J B Bernstein (Jon Hamn). He tries to do it in India where the system is not so smooth. J B journey towards finding a baseball player seems really tuff. Within few days J B gets nervous but never loses hope and keeps trying. He short lists some guys and trains them. The film has got some classical Indian music which might not be so good.Film concentrates more on the poverty part of India which might not be present everywhere in the country.

The emotional part of the boys leaving their hometown is adorable. When J B comes back he seems to have lost the indulgence with the girl next door Brenda Fenwick (Lake Bell). There is a lot of usage of Hindi as the guys are from rural India so they cannot speak English properly. The cultural difference between India and US is huge which is clearly visible in the movie. Initially it does not work out for the guys in the baseball. As soon as they comes to US for practice.John Hamm's performance brings a charm to the movie.

When J B realize that he must care more about these guys or create a better environment to make them more comfortable. The final try out does not works out after which J B and the other two guys Dinesh (Madhur Mittal)  and Rinku (Suraj Sharma) feel hopeless. Can J B gets these boys a second try out? Can these boys change their future by baseball?

Verdict:- Good

Ratings:- 3 / 5 Stars
