Rani Mukerji is a well-known and talented actress from Bollywood. She hasn’t done too many films in the past few years. Her last two films was Talaash & No One Killed Jessica both of them were commercially successful. Although it’s another fact that she didn’t get much credit for either of them. Rani Mukerji has also recently confirmed her marriage with Aditya Chopra. Mardaani would be her first come back film post marriage. Mardaani is also produced under husband’s banner which is Yash Raj films.
Mardaani is a women centric film. It doesn’t have a hero as a lead character. In the last few years Bollywood has produced many women oriented films. The response towards the same from the viewers were pretty good. Mardaani is based on a fresh topic of women abduction in India. Post abduction the female especially the younger ones are forcefully made prostitutes. Some of the interestingly shocking facts like every 8 minute a women goes missing in India are shown in the trailer.
The movie Mardaani especially concentrates on the case of a missing girl named Pyari. A female Inspector Shivani S. Roy (Rani Mukerji) takes interest in this case and tries to find a girl. While, solving a case she comes to know about the racket of women abduction and prostitution. She gets a chance to speak to the leader of the racket who seems to be a young guy only. Finally, she challenges to find him within 30 days. Will Shivani be able to find the criminal? Is she able to find the girl she was looking for?
I personally didn’t find the dialogues of the film that powerful. They could have been better than they actually are. I really like the premise and the way story is being set. Overall, I feel the plot of the film is a bit interesting and it can be given a shot for enjoyment.
