Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Movie Review

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (U/A)

Length: - 2 hrs. 10 min.

Concept of “Planet of Apes” which apes taking over humans was rebooted in 2011. This installment is the sequel to the same and takes the story forward after 10 years of the ending of the last one. Caesar (Andy Serkis) is the leader of apes. He is probably the smartest, wise and kind hearted apes. This film has the concentration on this character how he manages numerous and numerous apes. Here comes the problem the humans encounter apes and shot one of them with gun. Kind hearted human named Malcolm (Jason Clarke) tries to come with a solution that how apes and humans can live peaceful. But a cruel ape named Coba (Toby Kebbbell) who has hurt by humans in past kills Caesar and start fighting with humans. Can humans survive apes attack? Who can lead apes other than Caesar? How can Coba be controlled?

The premise executes interestingly meanwhile you may fall in love with Cesar’s character. This movie wants to convey a message that how people can live even with animals by respecting them and their existence. “Dawn of Planet of Apes” is never dragging or unconvincing. What it does is to make you starve for what is going to happen next? As story moves ahead the film gets even better and enjoys. I didn’t find the last installment “Rise of the Planet of Apes” thoroughly convincing and exceptional. But this one is certainly better than the previous one.

What’s makes the film interesting is the way apes are shown. How they live, survive, educate and communicate. Apes have also got feelings like humans and they can even talk like humans. Of course they are stronger than humans whether it be physically or mentally. How two totally stranger and other species i.e. Malcolm- the human and Caesar becomes friends was the best part of the film. I personally got connected to this because the emotions were so real and fascinating. Overall, I would recommend to make this for this really good movie.

Verdict: - Pretty Good
