Shaadi Ke Side Effects Movie Review

Shaadi Ke Side Effects (U/A)

Length: - 2 hrs. 33 min.

Shaadi Ke Side Effects (SKSE) does deliver some of the enjoyable moments. Trisha (Vidya Balan) & Sid (Farhan Akhtar) are very happy with their married life. Trouble starts when Trisha gets pregnant after which she stops loving Sid & concentrates just on their child Mili. Sid becomes so unhappy and lonely in the meantime. You will find some genuine comedy moments when Trisha & Sid makes conversation and/or argues about something. These circumstances doesn’t last long it changes when Sid asks Ranveer (Ram Kapoor) for the secret of his marriage life. Post application of Ranveer’s Sid becomes happy again. Here, enters a neighbor Shekhar (Purab Kohli) tats where things get problematic again between Sid & Trisha.

It’s interesting to see how things changes between Trisha & Sid. This gives the film some of the enjoyable and entertaining moments. Every time Sid takes suggestions from Ranveer which also makes things changing in an interesting way. SKSE is not a film which covers up something on a timeline rather it’s somewhat similar to real life events and situations.

In the last 45 minutes film film moves from the comedy track to serious track. This time couple tries to adjust themselves according to each other. Film doesnot get boring here, it tries to convey a message. From the dialogue “Zindagi mein kuch jada paane ki khwashish ham who kho dete hai jo hamare paas hai”. I was curious to know that how this film will end as things were turning out in an interesting way. Overall, SKSE is watchable for little bit fun but not too much.

Verdict: - Entertaining but not so good

Ratings: -   2. 5 / 5 Stars
