Length: - 1 hr. 59 min.
Bewakoofiyaan is about upper middle class girlfriend and boyfriend trying to take permission of girl’s father for their marriage. Here comes the problem with the film plot wise it doesn’t move much rather becomes repetitive and boring. Mohit Chadda (Ayushmann Khurrana) loses his job, car and finally his girlfriend as well. This is the story which drives the narrative for about an hour and half. Honestly, everyone could have expected a way too much from this film. Obvious problem here is the girlfriend’s father V K Sehgal (Rishi Kapoor) who is not ready to give permission for marriage but when he becomes ready for the same. Both girl and boy loses interest in each other.
Interesting twist along with some good moment in the last half an hour makes this film watchable for some time but other than that it’s a boring drama which is being overstretched. The most often used dialogue by Mr. Sehgal to make an impression is “Home secretary mere batchmate tha”. It seems in the film that very little masala has been added here to spicy dish.
The much hyped bikini scene of Sonam Kapoor comes and goes without catching much of our attention. Every actor here does a good job. Sonam looks fabulous and gives her character a charm. Ayushmann is simply superb in his acting while rishi Kapoor is interesting in a role of a unique stubborn father. Bewakoofiyaan remains boring, average and unentertaining watch.
Verdict: - Boring
