Phata Poster Nikla Hero Movie Review

Phata Poster Nikla Hero (U)

Length: - 2 hrs. 26 min.

Review
"Phata Poster Nikla Hero" (PPNH) is a comedy film by writer and director Rajkumar Santhosi who made films like "Ghayal", "Andaz Apna Apna" and many others. But, this film is not a classy comedy like Andaz Apna Apna rather its a tiring drama. The action in the film is much similar to typical Bollywood films in which hero beats numerous guys with a ease. Film does have Salman Khan in a cameo wearing Being Human t-shirt is short but is fair enough.

Vishwas Rao (Shahid Kapoor) who wants to be an actor since his childhood but his mother played by Padmini Kolhapure wants him to be an honest police officer.Vishwas Rao goes to Mumbai to fulfill his dream of being an actor, where he meets Kajal (Ileana D’Cruz) who is a social worker. Kajal thinks that Vishwas is a police officer and so do many others . This whole confusion is being stretched a lot.

PPNH is a mind less entertainer and it’s highly predictable as well. Christian Bale recently said that an actor should not be bigger than the film he is acting in. But, in Indian cinema it’s not true. Ileana played a bimbette, who has nothing much to do the film. Shahid Kapoor looks tensed in the moments. In total, the film goes nowhere.

In PPNH songs also seems to be putted unnecessarily. The audience engagement in the film is nil as nothing interesting is being shown. Sourabh Shukla is there in a negative role but his talent is not given enough space to be shown in the film.

Verdict: - A way beyond good entertainer
