White House Down Movie Review

White House Down (U/A)

Length: - 2 hrs. 15 min.

Review
White House Down is a film which never utilizes its full potential. It’s too slow in the first 15 minutes that it may leave you restless. It’s predictable and also drags a lot while tending towards end. Roland Emmerich who made films like Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day and many other big movies disappoints us in this one. Olympus has Fallen which came in the month of March this year has somewhat similar concept can be considered far better than this one.

John Cale (Channing Tatum) comes to White House for a visit cum interview with his daughter Emily (Joey King) but gets rejected in the interview by Carsol Finnerty (Maggie Gyllenhal). Soon a group of mafia attacks white house & wanted to kidnap US President James Sawyer (Jamie Fox); John Cale somehow tries to save the president by fighting with the mafia alone. Emily is in the attacker’s custody who wants to take advantage of that.

The main problem with the movie is its pace which is too slow. Although the film is not that long but still you may want to end this soon. One more thing which I found unconvincing was the intelligent force or other security officers are unable to do anything in order to save Mr. President and it only relies on John Cale character.
