Bollywood mid-year Report 2013 (1st Jan -30 June)

Few appreciable films which were not up to the mark

   1.   David
Three stories of three different times are nicely connected and interesting conveyed by Bejoy Nambair. Film was predictable and unsuccessful at box office.

2 .   Any Body Can Dance (ABCD)
ABCD was India’s first 3-D dance film. Film has big names attached with it like Prabhu Deva, Ganesh Acharya etc. ABCD was commercially successful but critically panned.

    3.  Jolly LLB
Jolly LLB is a social satire by Subhash Kapoor. Jolly LLB was never consistent but has good second half. Sourabh Shukla was the special attraction in the film. Jolly LLB does some has some enjoyable moments in it.

    4.  Gippi
Gippi is a movie based on teenagers by Sonam Nair. Gippi has a fresh topic but never utilizes its full potential. Its plot is weak and predictable. Film is somewhat watchable just because of its freshness.

    5. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD)
YJHD was a big commercial hit but it has weak plot, cheesy lines and nothing much to create curiosity. Deepika Padukone & Ranbir Kapoor chemistry was one of the few things which can be enjoyed in the film.

    6.   Fukrey
Fukrey is typical Delhi comedy film which manages to sustain in spite of its shortcomings. Weak plot seems to be part of almost every Indian film which is present here as well.

    7.Go Goa Gone
Go Goa Gone is a zombie comedy film with Saif Ali Khan as a lead. Film creates an interesting ambience but in the second half it seems to have lost its way. Overall, remains only above average.
