Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (U)
Length:- 3 hrs 7 min
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is based on the life of “Milkha Singh”, a famous athlete. The drama in the film switches back and forward with a little connection between them. There is much to appreciate in the film but it fails to leave lasting impression. Dialogues are cheesy enough to be remembered for a long time. First half of the film is still ok but in the second half the movie loses its track. The romance part in the film comes up as a weakness of the film.
The film also has few more songs than actually needed. After watching the romance track between Milkha & Rebecca just after few minutes the film throws another song.
Farhan Akhtar (Milkha Singh) has played his part really well. Biro (Sonam Kapoor) has a limited opportunity due to her short length role that it’s even uncountable. Divya Dutta character seems to be connected with Milkha Singh although not much is explained that what’s going on in her personal life. Prakash Raj is good enough in his part.
What enjoyable is a decent camera work which takes you to a journey of angles which was never seen in a any film till now. Also, the film seems to be a bit slow sometime for the audiences to grasp the individual scene completely.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag ends in an unexpected way that despite of winning a gold medal for the country after endless efforts, it shows a win over rivalry. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag seems to be switching between documentary and epic track and hence, becoming confusing to enjoy either of them.
Verdict: - Film does not give you what’s expected, requires patience to watch but can be watched just for Farhan Akhtar never ending efforts.
