Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola Movie Review

Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (U/A)
Length  2 hrs. 31 Min.

Film is about village name mandola which is controlled by one man by the same name. Film has outstanding screenplay of the movie are unique & engaging as well. Mandola (Pankaj Kapur) has a daughter named Bijlee (Anushka Sharma) who is about to get married to Badal (Arya Babbar) son of Chaudhari Devi (Shabana Azmi). But Matru (Imran Khan) who is the driver cum assistant cum personal secretary of mandola wants to save the village from the joint venture of Mandola & Chaudhari Devi who wants to turn agricultural land into the industrial one. Also, Matru tells Bijlee that she does not love Badal & should not get married to him. Will Matru be able to save his village from being a village a industrial landmark? Did Bijlee really love Badal? Can be seen in the film.

First part of the movie has a strong & engaging storytelling while moving forward becomes predictable drama. In spite of being shot in a village it has out of the box & interesting plot. Second half could have been better while climax of the movie is easily predictable also drags a lot for almost last 20 minutes. Vishal Bhardwaj being choosy in putting the scene systematic, proper & convincing this is really appreciable but towards the ending it seems that could have been far better or it could have ended sometime before it’s actual length. Completely different drama is the main punch line of the movie.
