Race 2 Movie Review

Race 2(U/A) – 2 hrs. 20 mins

Review

Race 2 is power packed with top class background music, exotic locations, nice action sequences and lots of hot girls. In the first half Race 2 goes really well with nice ingredients as mentioned. Saif Ali Khan as Ranveer Singh gives good performance. John Abraham (Armaan Malik) one of the big mafia of Turkey who loves only money is being impressed and dominated whatever as per requirement in the movie by Ranveer Singh. Deepika Padukone (Elena) seems to have crucial character in the film but wasted as a showpiece. Also, Anil Kapoor as RD does have much involvement in the storyline and Ameesha Patel (Cheery) has been totally wasted unlike Sameera Reddy in first part.
Race 2 mainly concentrates on Ranveer Singh and Armaan Malik other cast is involved just as a supportive role for both. Just after few minutes of the second half you feel like losing interest unlike first half of the movie. Possibly because almost all the double cross has already been and you will not feel movie engaging anymore. First thing which is wrong with the movie is its pace, moving quiet fast in the first half while being quiet slow in the second half. Climax in which nice twits were expected is not good and just creates a space for another sequel (Race 3).

Inkaar Movie Review

Inkaar (U/A) - 2hrs 9 Min.

Review

Movie is about a sexual harassment case filed by Maya Luthra (Chitrangada Singh) against his boss Rahul Verma (Arjun Rampal).A Committee is being formed to investigate about the case which last for two full days. Investigation is done through asking questions from both Maya & Rahul but both of them tries to justify each other. First half of the movie is stunning powered by terrific performances & dialogues. Just after few minutes of interval it seems that movie has lost its path .But gets back in a short span of time. Climax is the only possible ending which can happen.
Sometimes in the movie you will feel that suspense is testing your patience. Movie could have been better but still its quiet engaging & enjoyable. Inkaar jumps numerous times back & forth, tries to convey two points of views of the same incident which it makes it more confusing that what actually has happened in the case. Inkaar does maintain the curiosity to almost till end. It’s a good effort which cannot be ignored.

Ratings- 3/5 Stars

Verdict- Watch it for a change

Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola Movie Review

Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (U/A)
Length  2 hrs. 31 Min.

Story

Film is about village name mandola which is controlled by one man by the same name. Film has outstanding screenplay of the movie are unique & engaging as well. Mandola (Pankaj Kapur) has a daughter named Bijlee (Anushka Sharma) who is about to get married to Badal (Arya Babbar) son of Chaudhari Devi (Shabana Azmi). But Matru (Imran Khan) who is the driver cum assistant cum personal secretary of mandola wants to save the village from the joint venture of Mandola & Chaudhari Devi who wants to turn agricultural land into the industrial one. Also, Matru tells Bijlee that she does not love Badal & should not get married to him. Will Matru be able to save his village from being a village a industrial landmark? Did Bijlee really love Badal? Can be seen in the film.

Review

First part of the movie has a strong & engaging storytelling while moving forward becomes predictable drama. In spite of being shot in a village it has out of the box & interesting plot. Second half could have been better while climax of the movie is easily predictable also drags a lot for almost last 20 minutes. Vishal Bhardwaj being choosy in putting the scene systematic, proper & convincing this is really appreciable but towards the ending it seems that could have been far better or it could have ended sometime before it’s actual length. Completely different drama is the main punch line of the movie.

Table No.21 (A) - 1 hr. 49 min.

In Fiji they meet Mr Khan (Paresh Rawal) who explains them about a game named Table 21 in which they can win a prize of Rs 21 Crores. They just have to give truthful answers of 8 questions & have to perform a task related to it. But once Siya lies & as per the main rules of the game “if you lie you die”, she has to die.
Will Vivaan be able to save his wife from death? What is the truth Siya is trying to hide? Mr Khan is just a businessman or he has a motive too can be seen in the film.

Review

Movie is a bit slow in the starting but as it proceeds it becomes more engaging & emotional. Second half of the movie is better than the first half which is usually not there in most of the Bollywood films. Climax of the movie is unpredictable & appreciable which becomes the theme of the movie after being revealed. Problem which can be seen in the film is its storyline not being powerful. Hence, fails to create an impact also lacks in creating thrilling effect especially in the first half.

Ratings- 3/5 stars

Verdict- One time watchable

Bollywood is full of sequels in 2013

Bollywood is full of sequels in 2013
Making sequel of a movie is always a low risk investment compared to original films. We will be watching sequels throughout the year i.e. from the month of Jan starting from Race 2 to Dhoom 3 In December. Success of the original film inspires moviemaker to make sequel of the movie which is very common nowadays. Some of the sequels releasing in 2013 are:-

1. Race 2                                                            25th Jan 2013
2. Murder 3                                                        15th Feb 2013
3. Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster                             8th Mar 2013
4. Shootout at Wadala                                     1st May 2013
5. Yamla Pagla Deweena 2                              7th Jun 2013
6.  Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2              8th Aug 2013
7. Ragini MMS 2                                                 11th Oct 2013
8. Krrish 3                                                             1st Nov 2013
9. Dhoom 3                                                          25th Dec 2013

Other than sequels there are four more common patterns which can be seen in Bollywood for low risk investment. One of them is remake of old successful Bollywood films which started from the remake of movie Don in 2006 by the same name. This year also we will see remake of the following movies:-
1. Chashme Budhoor                                    22nd Feb 2013
2. Himmatwala                                              29th Mar 2013
3. Zanjeer                                                       12th April 2013

Second pattern is the movie making on a successful bestseller novel as we already saw many movies in past like Three Idiots, 7 Khoon Maaf, Maqbool Etc. this year also will see ‘Kai Po Che’ based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’ releasing on 22nd Feb 2013.Third Pattern is the remake of hit regional film into Hindi language like Ghajini, Dasavatharam, Makkhi and many others. Fourth Pattern is the Hindi remake of the Hollywood movies. Players which came in early 2012 which was a remake of Hollywood movie The Italian Job although didn’t perform well on box office. Some of the other announced Hollywood remakes are Bad Boys 2, Knight & Day.
